Nicholson, Horn & Blenkinsop take over the High Dock and carpenter's yard at South Shields, formerly operated by Messrs John, Thomas & William Wallis.

Looking for two partners for the firm (or replacements?). Yard described as having an excellent dry dock, capable of holding two ships of large size.

Thomas Wallis looking to sell the yard lately occupied by Messrs Nicholson & Horn.

Messrs Nicholson & Horn, having completed their very extensive single docks on the ground immediately adjoining the dock they have lately occupied belonging to Messrs Wallis can now repair vessels of any size.

West Docks - Sale of valuable dry docks, shipbuilding yard and premises situated at South Shields, in the occupation of the proprietors, Messrs Nicholson and Horn, who are declining business. To be sold in one or let in two lots, consisting of three spacious dry docks capable of holding one ship of 500 tons reg, and two of 250 tons each. Two slipways for building, timber pond, spacious & convenient proprietor's house, workmen's houses, smiths' shop, mould loft, cranes etc.

Partnership between Robert Nicholson & Thomas Horn was amicably dissolved. The business to carry on as Nicholson & Co, West Docks, South Shields.

C Young & Son, announce that the West Dock, lately carried on by Nicholson & Co will in future be carried on by them.
