26/06/1917 British Royal Navy

Comments: She was a modified Courageous Class battlecruiser
The 18.0ins guns were the largest guns ever fitted on a Royal Naval vessel
They proved to be too powerful for the relatively light structure of the battlecruiser
Almost complete as a battlecruiser, she was modified into an aircraft carrier
Early 1917: Forward turret replaced with a hangar and a forward flight deck
11/1917: Rear turret replaced with a hangar and flightdeck
06/1921: Superstructure removed & flightdeck extended over 3/4 of her length
23/01/1948: Initial breaking up at Dalmuir by Arnott Young
22/06/1948: Final breaking at Troon by West of Scotland Shipbreaking Co
